As you may be aware, JCU is embarking on an exciting building project. The new Athletic, Wellness & Event Center (AWE) will be built on the site of an existing parking lot. Consequently, for the duration of the construction project, we will need to park first-year and second-year resident students off campus at nearby parking areas. There is limited capacity at these lots, so it is very possible not all requests will be accommodated.
We appreciate your patience as we navigate these parking challenges. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students are very important to us. Please reach out to the parking office with any specific questions or concerns.
Parking Details
JCU parking permits are now reserved through a new portal for the 2024-25 school year!
You can now purchase a parking permit through your myJCU Gateway portal. Effective on the morning of the sales window, the parking link will appear under the Quick Links section.
You will need to enter your vehicle information, so please make sure you know your vehicle's make and model and have your license plate number ready. You will then be prompted to request your permit.
Below are key guidelines and requirements for ALL permit holders at JCU:
- Overflow Lot Usage: Main Campus, Commuter and Evening permit holders should park in the designated Overflow Lot if the main campus lots are full at any time.
- Offsite Permit Holders: It’s essential that you park in the lot specific to your permit. This applies to both Notre Dame and Apartment permit holders. Main Campus parking is not available on weekends or evenings unless stated otherwise.
- Shuttle Hours: Notre Dame permit holders are reminded to follow the shuttle hours strictly. (Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 10:30 pm, Saturday/Sunday 12:00 pm - 11:00 pm). The live shuttle tracker can be accessed via this link: Shuttle Tracker.
- Visitor Permits:
- Weekday Permits: These are available at the Main Gate House, with attendants available Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Weekend Permits: These must be reserved in advance through a student "host" at the Main Gate House. To pick up a weekend permit, ensure that you bring your JCU ID, your guest's name, and their vehicle license plate number by 4:00 pm on Fridays. Weekend permit holders are required to park in the Overflow Lot.
- Violation Enforcement: Parking violations are being added to your Banner account. Notifications of violations will be sent via email and left on your vehicle. You can file an appeal directly through the violation notification email.
