Tim Russert Department of Communication and the Boler College of Business are proud to announce the 2020 Chicago Summer Internship Program

The Chicago Summer Internship are hosted by John Carroll alumni who want to give back to John Carroll by assisting current students with summer internships. Students from all majors are invited to apply for internships.

Internship dates are tentatively Monday, June 8 through Friday, July 31, 2020. Virtually free housing available to the first 16 students who are granted one of these internships. Housing is provided by a generous alumni donor, John Dempsey ’84, and is located in the Chicago Loop ( (Students selected for the program pay $100 application fee and $22 renter’s insurance). Students who wish to start their internships earlier or end later will be responsible for paying the additional rent for the extra days/weeks, if they choose to live at the Infinite for those extra days/weeks.

Students interning with non-profits are eligible to apply for John Carroll University's Lavelle Fund Scholarship to ensure income during their internships. All other internships are paid by the organization with which they are employed.

Application Process: Once you determine which internships interest you most, complete the JCU Wufoo link. Some internships also require you to apply online to the organization. Some organizations have begun interviewing already; we encourage all John Carroll students to submit their applications no later than November 1, 2019 unless the organization has provided a different date.

Please read carefully; if you have any questions, contact Dr. Finucane (

Students may apply to spend the summer interning at locations in the Chicago area including:
