Eligibility: Full-time faculty and full-time staff and administrators are eligible for medical benefits.

John Carroll University offers three medical plans to eligible employees:

Medical Mutual of Ohio Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
Plan participants may seek care from an in-network provider or from an out-of-network physician or gatekeeper. Typically, the patient pays more for services from an out-of-network provider.

Medical Mutual of Ohio High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
A high deductible health plan is a plan with an annual deductible that is higher than the deductible in more traditional health plans. This type of plan is used together with a Health Savings Accounts. HSAs are a kind of tax-advantaged savings account used to accumulate funds for medical expenses.
