John Carroll University Professor of Counseling Paula Britton, Ph.D., recently received awards from the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) and the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NCACES). OCA honored Britton with the Charles “Chuck” Weaver Award, which recognizes consistent and distinguished service to the counseling profession and exemplary caring for people. In addition, she received the 2014 NCACES Outstanding Supervisor Award, which honors outstanding service as a supervisor in a university, community/mental health counseling, or school setting. Britton has served on the JCU faculty since 1993 and is practicum/internship coordinator for the clinical mental health counseling
graduate program. She is a licensed psychologist and professional clinical counselor with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Britton has led more than 100 local, state, and national professional workshops and presentations in the areas of supervision and ethics.
