Three graduate students in our Biology Department presented at the July 2012 joint meeting of the Botanical Society of America and the Canadian Botanical Society in Columbus, Ohio. With JCU faculty member Dr. Rebecca Drenovsky, Albina Khasanova presented on the; Jennifer Murphy presented on the Early life history traits in globally invasive and non-invasive Rosa congeners; and Jeff Walker presented on the Biomass allocation and nitrogen cycling during the first year of growth for two perennial bunchgrass species. In addition, Albina Khasanovas) won the Best Poster Award from the Physiological Section (2 years in a row!) and Jennifer Murphy won the Best Graduate Student poster Award from the Ecological Section.
