There's a common misperception that students who want to go to medical school need to major in the sciences -- or that students who want to go into business, or get a MBA, need to major in business.  Both assumptions are wrong.  In fact, a humanities major makes applicants to medical school more attractive to admissions committees.  History majors have a higher acceptance rate into medical school than biology majors!  For more on the relationship between history and the humanities to medical and professional school admissions, look here.
