  • Parking Permits for Fall 2020 and Academic Year 2020 - 2021 will go on sale in late July or early August.
  • Please review the Inside JCU for the sale of Parking Permits.
  • This year a new hang tag and validation sticker will be issued to all students, graduate assistants and JCU employees. 
  • A student may register only one vehicle, and may not register the vehicle of another student.
  • Parking permits are not transferable between persons.
  • At the end of this Semester/Academic Year Do NOT discard your hang tag.  The cost to replace the hang tag is $50 plus the cost of the Fall 2020 permit.  A new validation sticker will be provided to those that currently have a hang tag.  Any student applying for their first Parking Permit will obtain a hang tag along with a validation sticker.
  • The parking permit number identifies ​your​ vehicle. If a permit is lost or stolen and you want to park in campus lots, you ​must ​purchase another permit at the regular price.
  • If a student obtains a new vehicle, please call the JCU Parking Office (216-397-2277), or email parking@jcu.edu​ to provide the new vehicle information.
  • Student Parking Permits will not be mailed.
  • The purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.
  • The permit remains the property of JCU, and may be revoked at any time at the discretion of either JCUPD or the Dean of Students Office.

The permit definitions and parking fee information (price per semester) are below.

  • Main Campus Permit:

    • JCU juniors and seniors residing in JCU residence halls.
    • JCU sophomores, juniors, and seniors commuting to campus.
    • $165 for he semester and $330 for the academic year
    • Cost of the permit will be charged to your student account at the time of purchase.
  • Green Road Resident Permit:

    • JCU sophomores (with 30 to 59 credit hours) and freshmen residing in JCU residence halls who are required to park at the Green Road Annex. Shuttle service is provided between the Green Road Annex to the JCU RecPlex. *​After 5 PM on Friday until 7 AM on Monday the car may park on the main campus in student spaces only.
    • $165 for the semester and $330 for the academic year
    • Cost of the permit will be charged to your student account at the time of purchase.
  • Freshmen Commuter (BP Lot):

    • Freshmen living with parents or guardians and commuting to campus. This permit is valid from 6 AM until 1 AM. The permit is valid only for parking at the designated BP Lot during the week.
    • *​After 5 PM on Friday until 7 AM on Monday the car may park on the main campus in student spaces only.
    • $165 for the semester and $330 for the academic year
    • Cost of the permit will be charged to your student account at the time of purchase.
  • Evening Permit:

    • Evening graduate students or other JCU students who attend only evening classes. This permit is valid from 3 PM until 3 AM daily.
    • $75 for the semester and $150 for the academic year.
    • Cost of the permit will be charged to your student account at the time of purchase.
  • Graduate Assistant Permits:

    • Please go the Employee Permit section for information regarding Graduate Assistant Permits.
    • $330 for the Academic Year
    • Cost of the permit will be charged to your student account at the time of purchase.
  • Temporary Permit: $2/day

    • A student may purchase a temporary parking permit at a cost of $2 a day and will be issued for a period no longer than ten business days. Circumstances justifying a temporary permit would include a substitute vehicle brought to campus while repairs are made on the primary vehicle, or having the car on campus for just a few days for interviews/appointments. The temporary permit is not to be used in lieu of purchasing an actual parking pass for the semester.

* Permits purchased after the midpoint of the semester will cost 1⁄2 the amount of the semester permit.

A. Freshmen Residents​ will be able to apply for their Green Road Resident Permit starting the end of July or the beginning of August. (when student resident/commuter status is confirmed and loaded into Banner.)  Please review the Inside JCU message sent to your JCU email account for Parking Permit Notices.

B. ​Freshmen Commuters​ may apply for their BP Lot beginning the end of July or the beginning of August (when student resident/commuter status is confirmed and loaded into Banner.)  Please review the Inside JCU messages sent to your JCU email account for Parking Permit Notices.

Employee Permit Information

Please use the following steps once you have access to Banner Self Serve:

  • Go to Banner@jcu, click on Staff and then click on Banner Web
  • Click on Enter Secure Area which will take you to “MyParking at JCU”
  • Have all vehicle identification information on hand prior to entering the website. The information you will need is: license plate number and state, make, model, color and year of the vehicle you are registering.
  • On the left side of the page select "Apply for a Permit" and proceed through the process.
  • An employee may register only one vehicle. He/She must be the owner or the primary operator of that vehicle.
  • The Hang Tag can be switched between vehicles. If you purchase a new primary vehicle, please send an email to parking@jcu.edu with the new vehicle information
  • Permits can be picked up at the JCU Parking Office, which is part of JCU Police Department, or the permit can be sent by interoffice mail
  • Graduate Assistants will pay for their permits.  The All Year Permit is $330.
  • First year Graduate Assistants will receive a hang tag and sticker for the academic year.
  • The Graduate Assistant hang tag will remain with you until graduation.
  • Second year Graduate Assistants will receive a new sticker for the academic year.
  • Graduate Assistants will apply for their parking permit the last week of August.
