Each year the Staff Recognition Committee’s Staff Excellence Awards recognize the professional contributions and service of the John Carroll University staff (non-exempt and exempt), and their integral role in promoting the University’s mission of inspiring “individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.”

Award Categories

The New Staff Member of the Year Award recognizes the contributions and accomplishments of a staff member who has between one and three years of service to John Carroll University. This individual consistently exemplifies the University’s mission through integrity, collaboration, respect and customer service while exhibiting continuous improvement, professionalism and Blue Streaks pride.

The Staff Member of the Year Award recognizes the ongoing contributions and the significant impact of a staff member who has a minimum of four years of service to John Carroll University. This individual exemplifies the University’s mission through outstanding customer service, respect for his/her colleagues, collaboration, integrity and Blue Streaks pride.

The Saint Ignatius of Loyola Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership provided by a member of the John Carroll University community. This individual does not necessarily need to have supervisory oversight over an individual(s), rather they are involved with projects that benefit the larger University community.

The Archbishop John Carroll Award for Learning recognizes the contributions of a staff member to the educational pursuits of John Carroll University students, staff and faculty. This individual enhances learning through innovative programs and initiatives that pertain to members of the University community.

Plaques bearing the names of past award recipients are posted just outside the President’s Office on the first floor of the Administration Building.
