Gast, Clark, Horner, And Alramahi Earn OAC Athlete Of The Week Honors After 2024 Penn Relays Performance
The Ohio Athletic Conference awarded their Men's Track Athlete of the Week to a group of Blue Streaks. More specifically, the JCU 4x400 meter relay team consisting of graduate student Garrett Clark, senior Tyler Gast, and sophomores Dustin Horner and Basheer Alramahi. Over the weekend at the 2024 Penn Relays, the squad finished second in the preliminary round to advance to the final, finishing with a time of 3:13.51. On Saturday, the group only got better. Breaking the preliminary time by two seconds and finishing second overall, clocking in at 3:11.02.
Women's Tennis Stings Yellow Jackets in Clean Sweep to Close Regular Season
In a rare Sunday morning Ohio Athletic Conference tennis match, John Carroll Women's Tennis took care of business. The Blue Streaks closed out the regular season with a perfectly dominant match vs. Baldwin Wallace. John Carroll swept the day with a 9-0 conquest. The victory at Pop Collins Tennis Courts concludes the conference slate at 4-2, and with a 9-8 overall record.
One Stroke Separates Men's Golf from OAC Glory, as Otterbein Holds off JCU on Day 3
Needing a 3-stroke comeback entering the final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, John Carroll Men's Golf showcased a strong effort. But by a mere one stroke, Otterbein held off John Carroll for a second straight OAC crown, as Otterbein's OAC medalist Ian Johnston (-4) finished the day with a par to foil JCU's hopes of winning a second OAC crown in three years.
