Mission-Inspired Excellence

For more than a century, John Carroll graduates have excelled in health-related roles, a legacy extended by the College of Health. This new dynamic platform empowers students with rich research opportunities, nurturing aspiring leaders in clinical and administrative healthcare spheres.

Interdisciplinary Approach

Students gain a Jesuit-infused education merging social context and global perspectives. In collaboration with the Boler College of Business and College of Arts & Sciences, this integrated environment equips students to navigate intricate patient needs within healthcare and chart their career paths.

Cleveland's Healthcare Nexus

Nestled in Cleveland, a global healthcare hub, we leverage partnerships with esteemed institutions including the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and MetroHealth. These close affiliations and proximity with professionals provide students with invaluable insights, research and networking opportunities.

Cultivating Holistic Healthcare Leaders with Compassion

At John Carroll University, the College of Health embodies the Jesuit ideal of cura personalis, or care for the whole person, cultivating a new wave of healthcare leaders committed to comprehensive care. Emphasizing the fusion of physical and mental health, we prepare students to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape.

While housed within the College of Health, our healthcare curriculum extends its reach across all academic programs. We empower students university-wide to engage with healthcare perspectives.

Empowering the next healthcare workforce

More than 1,500 graduates of John Carroll University are currently working in healthcare-related fields.

The healthcare sector faces impending shortages of various health disciplines, including therapists, nurses, physicians, aids, and mental health counselors. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects a shortage of up to 195,400 nurses by 2031, while the Association of American Medical Colleges projects that physician demand is growing faster than supply, leading to a projected total physician shortage of between 37,800 and 124,000 physicians by 2034.
