The Pre-Health Professions Honors Society gives students interested in healthcare the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare professions in general and to gain experience through volunteerism. The students of the society currently work with the Stork’s Nest at Huron Hospital in a program that trains students to educate new mothers about basic infant care. The program is a joint effort of the society, the Center for Justice and Community Service, and the John Carroll Student Health Center.

If interested and want to apply, please fill out the Pre-Health Honors Society application.

The Pre-Pharmacy Club gives students the opportunity to learn more about careers in pharmacy and the steps necessary to gain entrance into the profession. Many of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs require two to three years of undergraduate work before being eligible for entry into the clinical doctorate program. In addition, most require a substantial number of hours of experience working in a pharmacy as an aid or a technician. Students interested in this profession must plan carefully to ensure they meet all of the necessary prerequisites for the program(s) to which they intend to apply.
