Daniel A. Carestio became President and CEO of STERIS July 29, 2021 and sits on its board of directors. Prior to being appointed President and CEO, Mr. Carestio served as COO and was responsible for all STERIS operating businesses. He previously served as Sr. V.P., Sterilization and Disinfection, and led the Life Sciences (LS), Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST), and Infection Prevention Technologies business units, a role he assumed in February 2018. From August 2015 to February 2018, he served as Sr. V.P., STERIS AST and LS.
From 2011 to August 2015, Mr. Carestio served as V.P., Sales and Marketing for Isomedix Services (precursor to AST) and General Manager of LS. He began his career at STERIS in 1997 as an Associate Product Manager for LS Sterility Assurance Products.
Mr. Carestio sits on the board of directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and University Hospitals and is a member of the Center for Corporate Innovation.
Mr. Carestio earned a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University.
