ONLINE ORDERS

We are strongly encouraging students who choose to order through us to shop ONLINE and EARLY! The safety of students and staff is the number one priority when planning for the Fall Term. By placing your order online, you allow us to provide your materials in the safest manner possible. In addition, shopping early allows time for the course materials to ship across the country. Due to nationwide transportation delays since the start of the COVID pandemic, we advise students to order their materials no later than Monday, August 24 to allow them enough time to travel if necessary.

When you order online at www.shopjcu.com you have the option to have your items shipped to you for a small fee or to pick them up in-store.

Those who elect in-store pick-up will be able to do so Monday-Friday 12p-6p beginning Monday, August 24. Hours are subject to change if necessary and will be posted to www.shopjcu.com. Taking the delayed student return into consideration, we expect foot traffic to be lower than average for the start of term. If this proves to be the case, online order pick-up will proceed in the Bookstore itself, located in the Lombardo Student Center. Should traffic or order volume make this unmanageable, orders will be moved to the Murphy Room for a safer experience. The location of pick-up will be indicated using signage at our entrance at the time of your arrival.

Students arriving to campus for order pick-up will need their student ID card to gain access to the building. Students without an ID may make arrangements with store staff to be let into the building by calling 216.397.3064 during the appropriate hours.

In addition, anyone picking up an online order will need the web order number or confirmation email to claim their order. Orders are no longer being organized alphabetically. If someone else placed the order on your behalf, have them send you the order confirmation email prior to arriving.

A reduced maximum occupancy of 20 people is in place, which may result in students being asked to wait outside of the store until traffic is lower. Face coverings are required while on campus, and all individuals are asked to social distance to the best of their ability.

IN-STORE SHOPPING

Students wishing to shop in-store may still do so, with the following changes impacting their experience:

·         Store hours will be Monday-Friday 12p-6p. Hours are subject to change if necessary and will be posted to www.shopjcu.com

·         The building will be secured until further notice. In order to enter, students must use the keycard entry with their student ID. Those without an ID can make arrangements with our staff by calling 216.397.3064.

·         A reduced maximum occupancy of 20 people is in place which may result in students being asked to wait outside of the store until traffic is lower.

·         The textbook department is clerk-service only, meaning students will NOT be allowed to browse the shelves. Staff will be placed near the back of the store to pull your books for you.

o   WE CANNOT ACCESS STUDENT SCHEDULES, please have a copy of your schedule with you (print preferred, as cell and WiFi service is spotty towards the back of the store).

·         A one-way traffic flow has been established. Students entering the store are asked to follow the markings on the floor and maintain social distancing while in line to be helped at the textbook department.

RETURNS

We encourage students to complete their returns in-store or by mail as soon as they know they will not use them to increase availability to other students. Returns of items in original condition will be accepted within 30 days of online purchase but NO LATER than September 30. Shipping fees for mail-in returns are the responsibility of the customer. Refunds will not be issued on items not in resalable condition.

RENTAL CHECK IN NOVEMBER-DECEMBER

For those who rent books for the Fall Term, books will need to be returned in-store or postmarked by December 18 (last day of the academic term) to avoid non-return charges. Students may check-in their rentals at any point in the semester if they are done with them. We will be ready to receive check-in titles when students move out in November if students choose to do so. Students may convert rentals to purchase at any time prior to the due date.

FAQ

I already placed an order for in-store pick-up, but I would like to have it shipped instead. How can I do this?

Call the bookstore at 216.397.3064 during business hours with your order information and we can have you pay for shipping over the phone.

I cannot make it to campus during the hours above, but wanted to save money and pick it up on the weekend. What option do I have?

Unfortunately, due to the impact of changes, we will not be offering weekend hours. If you would still like to use the in-store pick-up, you can have someone else pick up the order on your behalf during our store hours. They will need the confirmation email that is sent at the time of your order.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to the bookstore via email at bookstore@jcu.edu or by phone at 216.397.3064.
