John Carroll University’s Liturgical Music and Music Arts program welcomes the return of their annual Sacred Music Concert this Saturday, March 27th at 4 p.m. ET, once again offered on the vigil of Palm Sunday.
"In the Name of Jesus" - A Lenten Concert of Sacred Music and Word presented by Liturgical Music and Musical Arts at John Carroll University, will feature The Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross, opus 51, a string quartet by Franz Joseph Haydn. The music will be coupled with Seven Last Voices, a contemporary set of poetry by Michael Dennis Browne, written specifically in response to the musical work. Joining the concert will be members of the Cleveland Orchestra, as well as a member of the Bowers Program of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, coupled with poetry written specifically for the piece.
The concert will be virtual via live-stream in the Saint Francis Chapel on John Carroll’s campus.
