Author Jane Thierfeld Brown will give a lecture on “Helping Students with Asperger’s Syndrome Transition to College” on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Center for Science and Technology. Brown is a noted author, whose main research interests are students with Asperger’s Syndrome in higher education. She has published a book titled, Students with Asperger’s Syndrome: A Guide for College Personnel. She is the director of student services at the University of Connecticut School Of Law and has worked in disability services for 29 years. She received her B.A. from the University of Rhode Island (URI) in speech pathology and, while working as coordinator of disability services at URI, received her M.S. in Counseling and M.A. in Education. She also holds an Ed.D. from Columbia University, Teachers College. This is free lecture for parents, teachers, and advocates of students with Asperger’s Syndrome, but pre-registration is required.
