The John M. and Mary Jo Boler College of Business has recognized OMNOVA Solutions Inc. as the 2018 Boler Partner of the Year. Boler recognized OMNOVA for its commitment to hiring and engaging with John Carroll students and alumni at a ceremony on June 28 at OMNOVA Global Headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. Boler Dean of the College. “We’ve had many alumni go on to work at OMNOVA, and we are pleased to honor their contributions with recognition as our first Boler Partner of the Year.” Dean Miciak presented the award to Michael A. Quinn, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at OMNOVA. “Our relationship is equally important to us,” Quinn said when accepting the award. “We receive tremendous value from our contact with John Carroll faculty, staff, and students. The “war on talent” means that the battle for the best college students is competitive, and I feel I have an inside edge to reach some of the best college students in Northeast Ohio.” OMNOVA Solutions Inc. is a global company, producing chemicals and surfaces that appear in products with commercial, industrial and residential applications. The company’s Beachwood headquarters is home to 142 employees, including 12 John Carroll alumni in full-time positions, and four JCU interns. The Boler Corporate Partners Program was founded as an opportunity for companies to invest in their future talent pool and, in turn, the future of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. “Our program has allowed us to offer new professional development opportunities, inspiring our students to reach higher,” said Brandi Mandzak, Director of External Relations and Boler Professional Development Services. “They go on-site with our partners and learn from experts in the field, including our alumni.
