Since 1959, fewer than 300 people have been inducted into JCU's prestigious Silver Circle, honoring those employees who have served 25 years at JCU.  On April 23, Faith Whitworth was this year's inductee from the Chemistry Department. In her many years at JCU, Faith used her extensive experience in industry and education, to provide an inquiry-based approach to scientific learning.  Each year, she teaches all sections of the General Chemistry Laboratory sequence, our outcome-based challenging course designed to provide students with the intellectual, experimental, and interactive skills needed to participate effectively in future science coursework. Outside the laboratory, Faith mentors and advises current and former students.  In an effort to excite students about chemistry and to encourage them to be chemistry majors, she invites open discussion about course topics and their relation to current issues in the field of science.
