Their submissions result from independent research projects in JCU’s neuroscience concentration, which involves students majoring in biology, chemistry, or psychology. John Carroll neuroscience students conduct research on campus and at facilities including the Cleveland Clinic and other medical institutions. Helen Murphy, Ph.D., professor of psychology and neuroscience concentration coordinator, and Cyrilla Wideman, Ph.D., professor of biology, accompanied their students to the Eastern Colleges Science Conference. The conference featured research by more than 300 students from approximately 20 colleges and universities. Faculty from educational and research institutions across the Eastern U.S. evaluated the students’ submissions.
