Home / Newsroom / Fr. Niehoff named Provincial Assistant for Higher Education
On April 13, 2018, Scott Santarosa, S.J., Provincial of Jesuits West, announced the appointment of Fr. Robert Niehoff, S.J. as Provincial Assistant for Higher Education. Niehoff comes to this role with extensive higher education experience. Most recently he served as President of John Carroll University in Cleveland from 2005 to 2017. Prior to that, he served as Associate Dean of the School of Education, Associate Provost, and VP for Planning and Budget at the University of San Francisco from 1996 to 2005. From 1991-1995 he served in various roles at Gonzaga University—in the divisions of Finance and Student Affairs and in the Mission Officer role. Additionally, Niehoff will take on a new role at the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States, namely, as Consultant to the Jesuit Conference President for Higher Education. He will live at the Colombiere Jesuit Community in Portland, Oregon along with other curia staff.
