John Carroll University accountancy graduates ranked 8th in the nation and 1st in Ohio in pass rates for first-time sitters on the 2014 CPA examination among medium-sized programs, according to recently released results by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Medium-sized programs are defined as those with 21 to 65 reported candidates. JCU ranked 1st in Ohio for both the Auditing (AUD) and Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) sections, and 3rd and 4th in Ohio for the other sections, Regulation (REG) and Business Environment and Concepts (BEC), respectively (for programs having at least 10 candidates taking the section). JCU accountancy graduates had an impressive 74.8% pass rate compared to the national average first-time pass rate of 55%. John Carroll offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs in accountancy. JCU's Boler School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Boler School holds AACSB accreditation at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as the independent accountancy accreditation—a distinction held by only 1% of business programs worldwide.
