WHO: Gail Weiss, Ph.D., professor of Philosophy and Human Sciences at The George Washington University will present “The ‘Normal Abnormalities’ of Disability and Aging: Merleau-Ponty and Beauvoir”. Dr. Weiss’ interests lie in feminist ethics, critical race theory, disability studies, philosophy of literature, and feminist continental philosophy, especially on phenomenology and existentialism. WHAT: The Don Shula Program Lecture entitled “The ‘Normal Abnormalities’ of Disability and Aging: Merleau-Ponty and Beauvoir” with Dr. Gail Weiss. The purpose of the Don Shula Program Lecture is to present programs of interest to philosophers and the general public. Legendary NFL coach Don Shula is a 1951 graduate of John Carroll University.
