In February of 2013, The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) released the "Uniform CPA Examination Candidate Performance Book" and the "School Performance Book," which features comprehensive statistical data from all four testing windows of the 2012 Uniform CPA Examination. This year, John Carroll University ranked 10th in overall pass rates for first-time sitters among 260 medium-sized institutions. “We are extremely pleased with the performance of our accountancy graduates, which led to this recognition of their collective outstanding performance,” said Gerald Weinstein, professor and chair of the Department of Accountancy in the Boler School of Business. “The accountancy program in the Boler School of Business is highly regarded and this external validation is supportive of the program's stated mission to prepare its graduates to take and pass the CPA exam.” NASBA serves as a forum for the nation’s Boards of Accountancy, which administers the Uniform CPA Examination, licenses more than 700,000 certified public accountants, and regulates the practice of public accountancy in the United States. NASBA began collecting data on CPA Examination candidates in 1982.
