John Carroll University today announced a new food service partnership with Parkhurst Dining, a division of the Eat-N-Park Hospitality Group, to serve the campus community in a variety of innovative ways. The new relationship includes local food sourcing, fresh preparation, and an award-winning approach to allergens.

Parkhurst will debut mobile ordering on John Carroll’s campus via the GET Food app, giving students, faculty, and staff efficient dining options with limited contact. Schott Dining Hall, the University’s central cafeteria, will remain open with capacity changed to reflect current State of Ohio regulations. Parkhurst will also manage the Inn Between and Cubby, located in the D.J. Lombardo Student Center, Einstein’s Bagels, located in the Administration Building, and The Nook, a grab-and-go option located in the Dolan Science Center.

“Dining is an integral part of student life and Parkhurst’s fresh and efficient approach will be a great asset to our on-campus community,” said Michael D. Johnson, Ph.D., president of John Carroll University. “We expect that their innovative ordering process and commitment to made-from-scratch, healthy food will enhance the dining experience at JCU.”

As we continue to adapt and pivot to the quickly changing COVID-19 environment, Parkhurst is fully prepared to deliver exceptional hospitality and the safest possible dining experience. In alignment with the CDC and local guidance, Parkhurst is implementing additional training and health monitoring for team members, increasing the frequency of disinfection and sanitation procedures, and modifying dining spaces to allow for social distancing. They are committed to supporting our campus’ unique needs and traditions while remaining focused on health and safety as our first priority.

Parkhurst was chosen by a committee of students, faculty, and staff after extensive research interviews with several food providers.

A family-operated company, Parkhurst Dining is a division of Eat-n-Park Hospitality Group, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. Parkhurst has been recognized with awards from Food Management Magazine, the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, The American Culinary Federation, Foodservice Director Magazine and others for its dining service management, commitment to high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and a fresh approach to food preparation. With specialization in private college and university food services and corporate dining, Parkhurst is also committed to sustainability and high client satisfaction.
