Cleveland, OH – Two John Carroll University alumni have recently been named Fulbright Scholars. Kelly Crawford, a 2010 John Carroll graduate, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach English in Korea. Crawford is from Pickerington, Ohio. Matthew Joyce majored in History at John Carroll and received a bachelor’s degree in 2004.  The Fulbright Program will enable him to conduct research next year in China, concentrating on the contributions of the Yi minority to the Long March. Matthew currently lives in Hawaii. He is from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, is sponsored by the U.S. State Department. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to “increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. John Carroll University, founded in 1886 as Saint Ignatius College, is located in University Heights, Ohio, in suburban Cleveland.
