John Carroll University’s admissions process will continue to be test optional for both fall 2022 and fall 2023 applicants in response to the evolving college application landscape.

“We empathize with the challenges students are facing during these unique times,” said Stephanie Levenson, vice president for enrollment management. “We hope this helps relieve one key area of stress they may be experiencing.”

Student’s who decide not to, or are unable to submit standardized test results will not be at a disadvantage in the admission or merit scholarship review process. While reviewing applications that do not include standardized test results, greater emphasis will be placed on other required application credentials. These include academic performance, rigor of coursework, the essay, recommendations and co-curricular involvement.

Although not required, students who submit standardized testing results will have their scores considered as one component of the application process.
