John Carroll Alumnus and Financial Leader Robert Connors ’91 Brings More Than 30 Years of Business Experience to JCU
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO – John Carroll University President Alan Miciak today announced that Robert Connors, CPA has been named Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective April 4, 2022. Most recently, Connors served as a Corporate Controller for the Mazzella Holding Company, a manufacturer of lifting products and distributor of metal roofing materials.
“We are thrilled to have an accomplished alumnus return to John Carroll University as we build the ‘Inspired Futures’ of our students,” said Miciak. “Bob’s success in the business world and his knowledge of financial processes will be an asset to JCU as we move forward with our strategic plan and position the institution for a successful future.”
Connors will lead the University’s finance and administrative divisions with responsibilities for leading and managing the university’s finances and budget, treasury operations, investment management, human capital, information technology, facilities, purchasing, risk management, and external properties functions.

Prior to Mazzella Holding Company, Connors served as the Chief Financial Officer for Swensons Drive-in Restaurants LLC, in Akron, Ohio; Director of Finance and Corporate Controller for Vita-Mix Corporation in Olmsted Falls, Ohio; General Accounting Manager for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics in Aurora, Ohio; and Senior Corporate Accountant for Hawk Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Connors earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BSBA) - Accounting Major from John Carroll University.
