John Carroll University was named a recipient of the inaugural Assessment and Impact Award for Housing and Residence Life by Skyfactor Benchworks, a Macmillan Learning Company.
The Assessment and Impact Awards highlight colleges that are successfully using data to improve their housing programs and retention of students. John Carroll was one of four institutions to earn the honor, joining University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Southwest Oregon Community College.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Lisa Brown Cornelius, director of residence life. “It acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of the Residence Life student and professional staff in facilitating residence hall communities where students are engaged, learn, and develop meaningful relationships.”
Winners were chosen based on analysis of assessment data in areas like student staffing and diverse interactions, as well as interviews with housing and residence life leaders.
