Carter Ham ’76, a retired four-star general in the U.S. Army, joined PBS Newshour on June 4, 2020, to discuss President Trump’s talk of using military force on protestors.

Ham held a variety of leadership roles during his nearly 40-year military career including commander of the U.S. Africa Command, commanding general of the U.S. Army Europe and 7th Army.

He was awarded John Carroll’s Alumni Medal in 2010 and delivered the commencement address at JCU in 2013. He is also a member of the John Carroll University Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Hall of Fame. John Carroll is the local Army ROTC headquarters for Cleveland colleges and universities.
