The 2013 "Best Colleges" edition of U.S. News & World Report ranks John Carroll University #7 among universities in the Midwest offering master’s programs. This marks the 24th consecutive year that the University has been named as one of the top 10 regional institutions. The University ranks #6 in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” (value) category, and #3 for a “Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching.” John Carroll’s mission and history of community service again earned the University a place on the list of “Programs to Look For.” JCU students performed more than 55,000 hours of community service during the 2011-12 academic year. “As a Jesuit Catholic university, part of our mission is to prepare our students to lead and serve. John Carroll is pleased to be known for our excellence in learning and our commitment to service; we attract students who desire to do both. These rankings are a reflection of what we already know: great faculty and a rigorous curriculum attract great students,” said Rev. Robert L. Niehoff, S.J., president, John Carroll University. He added, “Looking forward, we will strive to build on success that centers on global engagement, ensuring that our graduates are ready to work and serve others here in Northeast Ohio or anywhere in the world. That’s the value of a John Carroll education.” The exclusive rankings are available online. The 2013 edition of the Best Colleges guidebook is available at USNews.com and will be on newsstands September 18.
