Blodgett Headshot

Cole Blodgett is a junior at John Carroll University and native of Buffalo, New York. Blodgett is a of the recipients of the Mastrantoni Family Scholarship Fund, a regional donor fund dedicated to those from the Western New York. John Mastrantoni ’80 and his family established this scholarship to ensure potential students from his home region would be able to attend his alma mater and receive the quality education he did. Mastrantoni went a step further with the creation of the Mastrantoni Family Student Success Commons in Grasselli Library, which houses Career Services and The Academic Success Center.  Mastrantoni’s goal was to ensure once students arrived at John Carroll they had the resources needed to be successful post-graduation.

The Mastrantoni Family Scholarship was one of the many factors that helped Blodgett to decide on JCU. Choosing to attend has provided him with opportunities he never thought were possible. The scholarship allowed Blodgett to meet some of the other Buffalo-based students who were also awarded this scholarship, and they were able to bond over their appreciation.

Working as an Offensive Student Assistant for the JCU football team has allowed Blodgett to establish new connections with those on the staff and team. This position coincides with his Sports Leadership major and his minors in Business and Exercise Science. Over time, he has found a way to balance his classes, his position with the football team, and his social life outside of school. Upon graduation, Blodgett hopes to pursue a career with the NFL, as many great JCU alumni have done before him.
