KYLE O'DELL, PH.D. Leadership Development Minor Director and Director of Undergraduate Leadership Education
Background
Dr. Kyle O'Dell began his John Carroll experience in 2004, when he was named the Assistant Director of Residence Life. In the past 15 years, he has held several positions on campus, including the Director of Orientation & Leadership, and Senior Director of Student Engagement, where he coordinates the university's orientation programs and leadership formation and training while supervising the staff who manage many aspects of the extracurricular experiences for students. He assumed the director role for the Leadership Development Minor in 2017 and has worked to create an academic program that incorporates important leadership principles, key elements of JCU's Jesuit and Catholic tradition, as well as the needs of the contemporary world.

Additional Information
Kyle holds a Doctorate from the University of Toledo in Higher Education and Leadership with Masters and Bachelors degrees from Bowling Green State University. He is a member of the National Orientation Directors Association and the International Leadership Association. He sings in his parish church choir and enjoys coffee, movies, reading, cooking,and hiking with his family.
