Master of Education (M.Ed.) Initial Licensure
For post-baccalaureate students who hold a B.A or B.S. degree (or equivalent) and wish to obtain a teaching license while completing an M.Ed. degree, JCU provides two different pathways:
- School-Based Master of Education (M.Ed.)
- Professional Teacher Master of Education (M.Ed.)
Upon completion of the accredited teacher preparation programs, you’ll have a Master of Education degree and a teacher's license in one of the following areas:
- Early childhood (pre-K through grade 5)
- Middle childhood (grades 4 through 9)
- Adolescent/young adult (grades 7 through 12)
