John Carroll alumna Amanda Maggiotto ’08 has spent her post-graduate years fighting for others, and for herself, in the field of cancer care. Maggiotto has been diagnosed with breast cancer three times, and has won each bout. Now cancer free for four years, the JCU grad continues her fight against cancer by working with Cleveland Clinic’s oncology unit.
Maggiotto has worked with the Clinic’s cancer care unit for over a decade, and uses her own experiences to advocate for others who are in need. On October 1, her efforts were nationally recognized by NBC’s Today Show, as the program ran a campaign called “Paint the Town Pink,” highlighting the effects that cancer has across the country for the beginning of breast cancer awareness month.
