WHAT: A discussion of politics and religion, in this election year, based on the writings of Thomas More in his book, Utopia. This lecture is a part of John Carroll University’s Cardinal Suenens Center Fall 2008 Book Series and is co-sponsored by the Grasselli Library & Breen Learning Center. Utopia, Thomas More’s ideal society, his heaven-on-earth, portrays a religious, democratic society which is paradoxically unregulated and at the same time tightly regulated and where virtue is always rewarded and each person has what he or she needs.
