John Carroll University Alumni Free Tax Preparation for Working Families on “Super Saturdays” January 27th & February 3rd WHAT: John Carroll University alumni, faculty, staff and students are volunteering to prepare and electronically file income tax returns for families filing the 1040, 1040-A, or 1040 EZ form. In order to take advantage of this free service: • There must be at least one working person in the family • The family’s yearly income must be less than $38,000 per year • Taxpayers must make an appointment Appointments can be made by calling Dr. Peggy Finucane’s office at 216.397.1608. Tax returns will not be prepared for self-employed individuals. Anyone who seeks this “Super Saturday” service must bring all 2006 wage statements (W-2), as well as income statements regarding interest, dividend and any other relevant information regarding earnings and expenses. WHO: Tax preparation services are coordinated by The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), sponsored by John Carroll University, the Internal Revenue Service and the Cuyahoga County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition.
