WHAT: John Carroll University alumni, faculty, staff and students are volunteering to prepare and electronically file income tax returns for families filing the 1040, 1040-A, or 1040 EZ form. In order to take advantage of this free service: There must be at least one working person in the family The family’s yearly income must be less than $40,000 per year Taxpayers must make an appointment *Appointments can be made by calling the Center for Service and Social Action at 216.397.6665 [Tax returns will NOT be prepared for self-employed individuals.] Anyone who seeks this “Super Saturday” service must bring all 2007 wage statements (W-2), as well as income statements regarding interest, dividend and any other relevant information regarding earnings and expenses. WHO: The Boler School of Business and the Center for Service and Social Action at John Carroll University are event sponsors, along with the Internal Revenue Service and the Cuyahoga County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition. Tax preparation services are coordinated by The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).
