WHAT: The 2008-2009 Dr. Shirley S. Seaton Cultural Awareness Series, sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs at John Carroll University, celebrates diversity as integral to today’s society. WHO: Jacque Reid is currently a news correspondent on the nationally syndicated radio program, the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Reid was previously the co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show, the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Jacque came to radio from CNN Headline News, and BET Nightly News, where she was known as the face of the network’s former evening news program. As principal anchor of BET Nightly News, Reid covered major news stories that included one-on-one interviews with President George W. Bush, former POW Shoshanna Johnson, Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry, and President Bill Clinton. Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in print journalism from Clark Atlanta University, a master’s in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University, and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She is a health and fitness enthusiast who enjoys reading, arts and entertainment, and participating in community service activities with children.
