WHO: James F. Kirsch, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Ferro Corporation Mr. Kirsch joined Ferro in 2004 as President and COO. He was named President, CEO and a director in 2005 and was elected Chairman, President and CEO in 2006. Prior to joining Ferro, Mr. Kirsch served as President of Premix Inc. and Quantum Composites, Inc., manufacturers of thermoset molding compounds, parts and sub-assemblies for the automotive, aerospace, electrical, and HVAC industries. From 2000 through 2002, he was President and Director of Ballard Generation Systems and Vice President for Ballard Power Systems in Burnaby, British Columbia. He spent 19 years at The Dow Chemical Company, culminating his tenure there as Global Vice President of Electrochemicals. Mr. Kirsch holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from The Ohio State University. He is on the boards of American Red Cross Greater Cleveland Chapter, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and John Carroll. Now in its 90th year, Ferro is a leading global supplier of porcelain enamel frit, as well as other inorganic and organic materials, including pigments and glazes; conductive powders and pastes; polymer additives; plastic compounds and colorants; and high-potency pharmaceutical ingredients. Ferro has 5,400 employees globally and is headquartered in downtown Cleveland.
