WHO: Sean Thomas Dougherty is an author of nine books that include Broken Hallelujahs (BOA 2007) and Nightshift Belonging to Lorca, a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize. He also authored Except by Falling, winner of the 2000 Pinyon Press Poetry Prize from Mesa State College. Dougherty gives his audiences thrilling poetry performances as he recognizes issues of identity within his work. Sean Thomas Dougherty received a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from Syracuse University. Aside from publishing nine books, Dougherty has also taught at Cazenovia College in New York and at Pennsylvania State University. He currently teaches writing at Case Western Reserve University and tours North America and Europe. WHAT: A reading by Sean Thomas Dougherty as part of the Visiting Writer Series.
