Starting in mid-July, John Carroll University will host the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) and Chris Kerr ’00, ’05G, currently coordinator of social justice and immersion experience programs in Campus Ministry, will become the executive director of ISN. The Ignatian Solidarity Network promotes leadership and advocacy among students, alumni, and other emerging leaders from Jesuit schools, parishes, and ministries by educating its members on social justice issues, mobilizing a national network to address these issues, and encouraging a lifelong commitment to the “service of faith and the promotion of justice.” ISN is the coordinating sponsor of the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, held annually in remembrance of the University of Central America martyrs and the Ignatian Solidarity Network Leadership Summit. “We welcome the ISN to campus. This national organization provides another valuable expression of our Jesuit identity,” says Rev. Robert Niehoff, S.J. “ While we will certainly miss Chris’s engagement in the development and coordination of John Carroll’s service immersion experiences, educational programming on social justice issues, and co-directing the Arrupe Scholars Program, we are excited and proud that Chris will be providing leadership of the Ignatian Solidarity Network.” ISN’s operations will move from the University of San Francisco in the coming weeks and the offices will be located at the Green Road Annex.
