University Heights, OH – “Hooray for Hollywood!” is the theme of this year’s Relay For Life event at John Carroll University. Student organizers will roll out the red carpet for the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. All of the lights and cameras will be on the survivors and those in the fight against cancer. The action will take place on the John Carroll campus, beginning Saturday, April 25, at 3p.m., and concluding on Sunday, April 26, at 9 a.m. The campus is located at 20700 North Park Boulevard, University Heights, Ohio 44118. Please join JCU organizations, local companies, schools, and families to lend your support. The opening ceremonies will honor the star-studded cast of survivors as they take a ceremonial first lap around the track, followed by the teams of participants in the fight against cancer. The evening Luminaria Ceremony remembers those who have lost their lives to the disease. Relay For Life is an event you do not want to miss. It’s a great way to have fun, share food, and enjoy music with your family and friends while raising awareness of an important cause. This 18-hour “Oscar-winning event” will raise dramatic funds for cancer research, education, advocacy, and service. The Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, support for those who are coping with the illness, and the dream that one day cancer will be eliminated.
