Dr. Mark D. McCarthy is the new Vice President for Student Affairs at John Carroll University. He was previously the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/ Dean of Student Development at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. McCarthy holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University, an M.A. in Student Personnel Administration from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University. In his new role at John Carroll, Dr. McCarthy aspires to encourage active student involvement and a strong, vibrant, and diverse campus community. Carol P. Dietz has been appointed as the Associate Vice President of Facilities at John Carroll University. Ms. Dietz was previously the Director of Facilities Management for the Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Dietz has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering and more than 20 years of experience as a registered professional engineer. She also has eight years of higher education administrative experience in facilities management, design, construction project management, and strategic planning. Ms. Dietz will oversee the campus master plan at John Carroll as the University moves into a pivotal, investigative phase of the process.
