For the fifth consecutive year, John Carroll University and our Celebration of Service student veterans program have been named to G.I. Jobs Magazine’s Military Friendly Schools list. This ranking places JCU in the top 15 percent of student veteran programs nationwide. “John Carroll University is pleased and honored to be named, for the fifth year in a row, to the Military Friendly Schools list,” said Eric Patterson, director of veterans affairs at John Carroll University. “In the spirit of our Jesuit mission, we strive to not only provide a world-class education to our student veterans, but to also provide the support, mentoring, and University benefits which will aid them in transitioning into civilian society and into a successful professional future. We know that our student veterans sacrificed to earn their GI Bill benefits, and we believe in our mission to help them achieve their goals.” Now in its fifth year, the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools ® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for VA tuition funding. The survey results that comprise the 2014 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Each year schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria, and weightings developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country.
