WHO: Dr. Luigi Ferri is Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian Language and Literature at John Carroll University. He received his Laurea from the University of Urbino in Italy and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research centers on Modern and Contemporary Italian Literature, Italian Business Language and Culture, and Cultural Political Studies. WHAT: A lecture by Dr. Luigi Ferri, entitled “Conflicts of Post-Modern Italy” Dr. Ferri will discuss how politics shapes the social debate on immigration, the role of women, and the function of the media in today’s Italian political system. In his presentation, he will analyze the current cultural, socio-political issues, and how they are interpreted by the media.
