WHAT: Parents of elementary school students in the Euclid City Schools are invited to “An Informal Chat” with local author Sarah Willis. This event will help support the awareness and development of parent literacy groups which are being established in all Euclid elementary schools. The program is part of ongoing professional development being provided to the district by the Institute for Educational Renewal (IER), which is affiliated with John Carroll University. A parent and an IER consultant assigned to the school facilitate the group meetings where parents can enjoy discussing books, sharing ideas and learning more about reading comprehension strategies they can model for their children. Parents planning to attend should contact IER parent literacy coordinator, Jane Harris, at 216.932.5006 no later than Monday, February 19, 2007.
