John Carroll University’s English Department presents:   Lee Smith Author   Wednesday, April 6, 2011 7:30 p.m.   D.J. Lombardo Student Center / Marinello Little Theatre Auditorium This lecture is free and open to the public.   WHO:          Lee Smith is the author of 15 works of fiction including Oral History, Fair and Tender Ladies, and her recent On Agate Hill. Her novel The Last Girls was a 2002 New York Times bestseller, as well as winner of the Southern Book Critics Circle Award. A retired professor of English at North Carolina State University, she has received many awards including the North Carolina Award for Literature and an Academy Award in Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
