John Carroll University’s Boler School of Business presents:  Marybeth Shamrock Managing Director, KPMG LLP Topic: “INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL REPORTING STANDARDS”   Thursday, July 14, 2011 5-6:15 p.m. Boler School of Business / Room 18 This event is free and open to the public.    WHAT:     This forum will center on the status of the convergence projects on which the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the International Accounting Standards Board have been collaborating. In particular, the session will focus on the expected outcomes from the standard-setting projects on revenue recognition, leasing, and financial instruments.   BACKGROUND International accounting standards dictate how particular types of transactions and other events should be reported in financial statements.  The goal with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is to make international comparisons as easy as possible.
