One of the most difficult aspects of coaching is building a sustainable winner. Multiple factors–talent, scheme, academics, the mission, and character–all play a role in recruiting. It all has to come together–on the field, in the locker room, and in the classroom. And in the end, a simple lucky bounce, call, or decision can make or break a season.
Four coaches at JCU have served for more than half a decade and won multiple Ohio Athletic Conference titles. While they’ve all enjoyed success, it has come in different ways, times, and speeds. Mark Fino, Shaun Keenan, Hector Marinaro, and Kelly Morrone shared their stories with Onward.
