University Heights, OH- Sandra Pianalto, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland will be the keynote speaker for John Carroll University’s 2007 commencement exercises on May 20, 2007 at noon, on the Rodman Terrace and Quadrangle (on campus*). She is one of four individuals who will receive honorary degrees during the event. Ms. Pianalto serves as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee, bringing her district’s perspective to policy discussion in Washington. Before joining the bank, Ms. Pianalto was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and served on the staff of the Budget Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. She currently serves on the boards of directors of the Cleveland Foundation and the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education, and many others. Ms. Pianalto earned a master’s degree in economics from The George Washington University. She is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. Ms. Pianalto was born in Valli del Pasubio, Italy. Approximately 770 undergraduate and 200 graduate students will be awarded diplomas. John Carroll University will confer honorary degrees on: Fr.
