My name is Dr. Kyle O’Dell, and I am the Senior Director of Student Engagement at John Carroll University. One of my responsibilities is to coordinate Streak Week, an event full of educational programs and social events designed to introduce you to the University and to life as a college student.

You may be wondering why you need to participate in Streak Week in addition to the New Student Orientation that you participated in over the summer. There are several reasons for this. Streak Week picks up where summer orientation ended and is designed to provide a more in-depth introduction to the University. Throughout the weekend, you will participate in various educational sessions focused on issues you may encounter during your first year.

During the weekend, you will also have a chance to meet your SWAT Leader, who will serve as your small group leader for the week. In addition, there are several awesome evening activities planned for you. These events are a great opportunity for you to connect with your classmates and see what John Carroll has to offer!

Streak Week 2021 officially begins at 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 25 and runs until the evening of Sunday, August 29. Classes will begin on Monday, August 30.

Please contact the Office of Student Engagement if you have questions about Streak Week. You can contact the office by email at orientation@jcu.edu

Sincerely,
Kyle O’Dell, Ph.D.
